United States Congressman Phil Hare stopped in Macomb and Quincy to celebrate his first 100 hours in legislative session.
He spoke with residents on the campus of Western Illinois University and at the Quincy Machinists Lodge.
Hare wants those who put him in office to know he enjoys House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's five-day work week for Congress.
He also shared his views on the war in Iraq.
"I'd rather phase out gradually and get our troops out of harm's way. I'd bring in the cabinet and get dialog going between neighbors of Iraq," Hare said.
Hare received a standing ovation at the Quincy Machinists Lodge when he announced he plans to work for veteran's benefits.
